World Cup 2023 always gave eye feast & the essence of an emerging contest is very often sensed during the opening ceremony in ODIs.
I hope every one still remembers Sachin’s lovely uppercut six off Shoaib Akhtar in a 2003 World Cup game at Centurion in South Africa even if its 20 years earlier!
It really set the tone for India’s successfull chase and it was indeed the bullet that set fire to the African skies giving feast to the world cricket lovers. Now, after two decades, that shot continues to have immense recall value truely!
Its a Cricketing tradition, even in superb ODIs, more often expected openers to wear down fast bowlers before the middle-order stars swaggered in through. but that dour garb atop the batting tree was then slightly altered by the players. Teams mixed it up with one classic player walking out alongside the aggressive partner.
